Morning & Evening Prayer

“When we arise in the morning, we need to go into the day knowing that each day is a gift which God graciously gave us......Evening prayer teaches us the concept of faith and belief.” (Yitzchok Kerzner)

Morning Prayer

O LORD, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day; Defend us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Liturgy of the Hours - Prime)

"May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, be with us throughout this day, and with all those we love. Amen."

"O Lord, grant that we may greet the coming day in peace. Help us in all things to rely upon Your holy will. In each hour of the day, reveal Your will to us.

Bless our dealings with all who surround us. Teach us to treat all that shall come to us throughout the day with peace of soul, And with the firm conviction that Your will governs all.

In all our deeds and words, guide our thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen events, Let us not forget that all are sent by You. Teach us to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others.

Give us the strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day, with all that it shall bring. Direct our wills. Teach us to pray. Pray within us. Amen."

Evening Prayer

"Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, And give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones.

Shield your joyous ones. And for all your love's sake. Amen."
